Marat specialises in dispute resolution and investment projects in Russia and abroad.
In addition, he has extensive experience in employment and immigration law and personal data protection matters.

In particular, Marat represents clients in disputes in the Russian commercial (arbitrazh) courts and courts of general jurisdiction, and in international arbitration. He has experience in dealing with multi-jurisdictional disputes and co-ordinating the work of local counsel.

Marat assists clients with structuring and documenting investment projects in Russia and abroad, including construction projects, share and asset sales (including real estate), and the establishment of joint ventures. Marat also conducts negotiations with investors, vendors, potential partners and contractors, and advises on regulatory matters.

  • Representing seven individuals, holders of TRUST Bank credit notes, in a dispute before the courts of general jurisdiction in Russia
  • Advising a Russian investor on the acquisition of gold assets in Ethiopia and on the establishment of a joint venture with Israeli partners
  • Advising a Russian private investor on the corporate reorganisation of its real estate companies and on establishing an investment fund

  • Representing a private investor in a dispute concerning the cadastral value of a land plot
  • Advising Leicht, a kitchen furniture producer, on infringement of its trademark
  • Representing IKEA in a dispute relating to the rental of diesel generators, including several court proceedings and criminal investigations
  • Representing a foreign bank in proceedings in the Russian courts initiated by an offshore company seeking to invalidate an assignment of rights under a credit agreement, and the related mortgage. Recovering damages in the amount of US$180 million, and obtaining anti-suit injunctions to prevent the claimant from proceeding with the Russian litigation, and simultaneously obtaining freezing orders in respect of the claimant's and other third party assets
